 PARK

There are some parking lots across the street from Walsh Landing, but be aware that a portion of the lot is designated for "boat trailers only". You will be ticketed if you park in that section!! Also, be aware at certain times there will be a parking attendant collecting $5, usually on weekends during the summer months. If this parking lot is full, you will have to park across from Abel's on the Lake or Hula Hut which is a couple of blocks away.  If it is not too busy you may be able to drive your vehicle down near the Kontiki and unload heavier items i.e. Ice, beverages, food etc.  You can only park here for a few minutes to unload and will have to move your vehicle to one of the parking areas mentioned above.

BOARD

The boarding location is at Walsh Landing located at Lake Austin Blvd & Enfield Rd. It is just west of Abel's on the Lake and Hula Hut.  If you are coming from downtown go west on 6th street (6th St. turns into Lake Austin Blvd).  The actual physical address that you can put in your GPS or mapping program is 1600 Scenic Drive

DRINK

The Kontiki has 2 large marine ice chests.  You are welcome to bring your own as well.  Depending on the quantity and type of beverage, 4 to 5 twenty pound bags of ice are suggested. Glass bottles are "prohibited" on board for safety reasons. The Kontiki has a generator if you would like to bring a blender or margarita machine. There is a bar to set up on as well as two 6 foot tables.  If you or anyone in your party is under the age of 21, the use of alcohol is strictly prohibited. Upon observation of underage drinking, the captain will return the boat to Walsh Landing, ending the cruise. We would suggest bringing plenty of bottled water. It is very easy to get dehydrated while out on the water.

EAT

The Kontiki does not cater food but there are a number of nearby restaurants you can pick up food from.  Mexican food; Maudie's (512-473-3740), Hula Hut (512-476-4852) or American food; Abel's on the Lake (512-904-0570).

The Kontiki has a bar area and 2 six foot tables to set up food on.  Depending on the event, I would suggest bringing a couple of 6 foot disposable tablecloths. For seating there are about 20 plastic chairs as well as two long wood benches.

MUSIC

The Kontiki has a stereo with an mp3/iPod connection.  If you want to bring a separate system or a band, please contact us beforehand to make sure we can make accommodations.
